I. LOVE..SHOPPING!
No, that's not the secret. Everyone knows I love shopping!
My secret is a little embarassing and it probably made a lot of people mad.
When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I would walk 2 blocks to Phar-Mor. Phar-Mor was a big deal in 1992 for about 10 minutes! Phar-Mor popped up in every town, offered deep discounts on drugtore items-and it was HUGE! (Sadly, Phar-Mor closed all its stores almost as quickly as they opened a few years later)
I was no longer working at this time due to medical reasons, and money was tight so I could not support my shopping "addiction". I would walk to Phar-Mor and I would FILL my cart up with goodies! The BEST shampoos, hair color, lotions and other goodies. MAN-ALIVE! What a high! Even though Phar-Mor offered ROCK BOTTOM PRICES, I know that I probably had at least $300.00 worth of goodies in my buggy.
Then I would push my cart down the magazine aisle, pretend I was looking at a magazine and then I would just walk out of the store. I felt bad. I know someone had to put all that stuff back, but I needed to feel like I was shopping! It made me feel better!
I still do something like that today. I will shop my butt off on Amazon.com searching the deals of the day, then shoes, wine glasses and and other odds and ends ( Search Amazon.com for deal of the day
) and I fill my "cart" full and walk away without buying most or any of it.I'm really enjoying my journey into couponing. I've been able to buy the "good shampoo" for considerably less than the "cheap stuff" I'm used to getting! I just might be able to become one of those cart-filling coupon freaks(*) you hear about!
